What is Ticket to Work?

The Ticket to Work (TTW) program is a free and voluntary program offered by the Social Security Administration (SSA). It is designed to help adults aged 18 through 64 who receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) transition into the workforce and become financially independent without immediately losing their disability benefits.

Who Is Eligible for Ticket to Work?

You qualify for Ticket to Work if you:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 64
  • Receive SSDI or SSI due to a disability
  • Are interested in working or returning to work

Participation is entirely voluntary—there’s no penalty for choosing not to enroll.
